eID Forum Partners
To tell you how it all began, we need to go back to the era when we only spoke of Gigabytes and electronic identity cards were slowly being adopted in the EU. Yes, we're talking of the year of 2008, when Konstantin Papaxanthis, back then CEO at PrimeKey Solutions (Sweden), and José Pina Miranda, previous CEO at Multicert (Portugal), were discussing the lack of a space where the industry, governments and experts could speak openly about the needs and developments of e-identity. Unable to find such a gathering, they decided to organize one on their own - the National eID & ePassport Conference. Reinforcements were called upon and Anna Seddigh, ex CMO at PrimeKey Solutions, and Ana Sofia Ferreira, at the time MarCom Manager at Multicert, joined the team and the event was born.
We believe this forum was born to be global, non-profitable and open minded.
Similarly to the evolution of identity, this event has also changed and reconfigured itself during this past decade and now, the team decided it was time for a new eID Forum to take shape. We believe this forum was born to be global, non-profitable and open minded. Therefore, the team created a non-profit foundation for representing the eID Forum, located in nowhere else than Estonia, the "mecca" of e-ID!

We are very proud of how the team has grown, welcoming new members and strengthening our foundations, with the hope that you will also embrace this project and contribute to its success.
Story
Estonia
The eID Forum prides itself on being a dynamic platform for exchange, debate and discussion among industry experts, decision makers, thought leaders, regulators and stakeholders. Everyone brings to the table highlights and insights to the role of eID as the key enabler of our economy.
Since the very start in 2009, we have received support from the EU Commission, either in the form of patronage and/or in the form of participation in the agenda. The dialogue with regulators on how electronic identification and electronic Trust Services are key enablers for secure cross-border electronic transactions and central building blocks of the Digital Single Market, will be incorporated in this year’s eID Forum program.

There is no more fitting co-hosting partner than the Republic of Estonia Information System Authority (RIA) for our gathering of the eID Community. The Information System Authority (RIA) is a governmental organization established in 2011. RIA is operating in the administrative area of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
RIA coordinates the development and administration of the state’s information system, organizes activities related to information security, and handles the security incidents that have occurred in Estonian computer networks. RIA advises the providers of public services on how to manage their information systems as per requirements and monitors them. In addition, RIA is an implementing entity of the structural assistance of the European Union.
Estonia also celebrates 100 years as an independent Republic. Another reason for the eID Forum to pay its respects and host its decennial edition in Tallinn.
